This program combines instruction in high school and at Seneca College and provides a Cooperative Education placement in the education sector. It is offered in Semester 2 and is open to students in their graduating year.

As a Child Development Practitioner, you love to work with people, in particular, young children. You enjoy the challenge of teaching children from a variety of different learning backgrounds.

To qualify, YOU must:

Candidates will be interviewed by a selection committee which includes industry partners. A limited number of spaces are available.

Program components include:
For Grade 12 students during semester two in their graduating year:
• First 2 weeks at your home school for pre-placement orientation
• Week three – Cooperative Education placement as a CDP apprentice begins:
– Mondays (select) return to your Home school
– Thursdays (all) attend Seneca College
– Module One (42 hours) – Child Development 1
– Module Two (42 hours) – Pre-School Learning Environments 1
– Module Three (42 hours) – Pre-school Learning Environments 1 (PRACTICUM)
